NDSA Chip Check
Asks every chip on the sensor board for its ID (WHO_AM_I) over the USB cable, then saves a results file. For the vendor firmware V1.0.
- Plug the sensor into this Mac with a USB data cable. If VMware is open, untick the CP2102N there first.
- Click the blue button and pick CP2102N or usbserial.
- Then do the two button tests and the drift test.
- Click the green button and drag the saved file into the Claude chat.
Button tests
The board has two buttons. RST restarts the chip, which shows on the USB cable. WKUP is only reported over Bluetooth while connected (vendor firmware V1.0), so its test uses Bluetooth.
Drift test (Bluetooth, 2 minutes)
Lay the sensor flat and still (it can stay plugged in for power). Measures how far the angles creep in 2 minutes and why.
